A
brow lift or forehead lift is a popular cosmetic procedure
for both men and women who wish to eliminate their forehead
lines and furrows. The resulting smoothed area of skin
between the eyebrows and hairline creates a more youthful
look and presents a relaxed facial appearance.
Coronal Approach
A surgeon makes a coronal incision
in the skin, running from one ear up across the top
of the forehead and down to the other ear. Balding patients
and those with receding hairlines can choose to have
the incision line follow their current hairline or natural
skull bone pattern to minimise visibility of any scarring.
Once the cut is made, underlying tissue and muscle in
the forehead are removed or otherwise worked on to create
a smooth forehead appearance. The skin is then pulled
up and trimmed before being sewn along the cut line.
The result is a smoother and tighter forehead

Endoscopic Approach
Alternatively a surgeon may use an endoscope. This is
a miniature camera device where when inserted beneath
the skin, relays images back to a monitor. The advantage
of using an endoscope in the brow lift procedure is
that only a few small incisions needs be made across
the patient s upper forehead. The endoscope allows
the surgeon to view the area without pulling back the
entire forehead skin. The endoscopic approach is less
invasive with minimal scarring to the forehead.
